When it comes to restoring the 124 sport coupe, removing the stainless steel trim is a very tedious job. Without any proper removing procedure, it is very easy to warp & bend the press fit door frame & rain gutter trim.. Even the trim held with fasteners like the rocker panel, rear fender, trunk, wind screen & the door scraper moulding trim become easily warped or bent. It is a shame when a trim piece is damaged because these parts are very very hard to find NOS today .And lets not forget about the windscreen trim clips, they are OBSOLET to buy new today. These clips just easily break when the mouldings are removed. I have stripped and restored many coupes. This being, I have come up with a few “tricks” of my own when it comes to removing or installing new or used trim successfully with out damage. So, I will slowly post a video or picture procedure in this section. Stay tuned.
PS: If someone else has their own successful technique and would like to share it with us hosted in this page, just send me your video or picture procedure and I would be happy to post it
